چکیده

Abstract The consumption of critical raw materials, especially those in permanent magnets Nd–Fe–B and Sm–Co-type, has significantly grown the past decade. With predictions on further electrification growing exponentially demand for these materials will even increase. This implies that efforts assuring sustainability must involve recycling from secondary resources. In recent years electrochemical approaches have been extensively investigated applied owing to their advantages high efficiency selectivity, easy operation, low energy consumption, environmental friendliness. this paper, we investigate Sm 2 (Co,Fe,Cu,Zr) 17 magnet leaching process using anodic oxidation be paired with metal deposition cathode. Linear sweep voltammetry was performed − 0.15 1 V versus Pt quasi reference electrode indicated current peaks would correspond some preferential crystal phases contained magnet. latter confirmed SEM/EDXS analysis. continuous at a direct density 2, 4 8 mA cm −2 time period 0–240, 240–480 480–720 min, respectively. ICP-MS results all metals original concentration 3+ , Cu 2+ Fe Zr increases linearly along time. Reversely Co decreases due its by electrodeposition Co, presented could serve as starting point recovery without any acid usage waste generation. Graphical abstract

Rare-earth Permanent Magnets: New Magnet Materials and Applications

The introduction of rare-earth permanent magnets based on samarium-cobalt in about 1970, and neodymium-iron-boron magnets in the mid-nineteen eighties, has ushered in a new era in hard magnetic materials. This has resulted in a dramatic improvement in permanent magnet performance, with neodymium-iron-boron (Nd2Fe14B) magnets having a magnetic energy product up to an order of magnitude greater t...

This study presents the structural and magnetic properties of melt-spun , , and alloys. Appreciable permanent-magnet properties with a magnetocrystalline anisotropy of about 9.6–16.5 , a magnetic polarization –10.6 kG, and coercivities –3.0 kOe were obtained by varying the composition of these alloys. Structural analysis reveals that the positions of x-ray diffraction peaks of show good agreeme...
